"My dad was a minister when I was growing up, so my brother and I were encouraged to play in church from a very early age: guitar, banjo, mandolin, piano, and drums. When we were in college, the two of us moved to Woodstock, NY, and started working with Levon Helm, who was a drummer and lead vocalist for the Band. He was a mentor to us. He started something around that time called the Midnight Ramble, where he'd bring in world class musicians, guys who had been around for a while, and that's how we really got started writing our own material. We've been at it for a few years now and have a CD coming out in April called 'The Tallent Brothers.' The songs on the album dig deep into experiences and real emotions that we hope a lot of people will be able to relate to."
