"I've been with the Memphis Park Commission for 13 years. For 6 of those, I've been here at the Raymond Skinner Center, which provides recreational opportunities for people with intellectual or physical challenges. Various agencies bring their clients, which means we have about 150 people here every day. We've got a lot going on: arts & crafts, ceramics, computer lab, puzzles, board games, and the gym, to name a few. We even have our own basketball team that plays against Avon-Lennox. There's a dance every Friday night too, which draws 200-250 people.
"Everyone here has their own unique story, and all of them together make this a very special place. I don't have any trouble waking up and coming to work every day. There's never a dull moment. I love it."
