"The first time I sang in public was in a Christmas Showcase, and I was nervous. I was 9 years old, and the song was Tender Tennessee Christmas. I'm 14 now and I've done a lot of public performances since then, but I still get nervous when I first get on stage. After a few minutes though, I'm kind of in a little box where it's just me and the people who are listening and it's okay. My favorite song I've written so far is called Remember Me Always. It's about my grandpa who passed away from Alzheimer's three years ago. After he died, I kept writing things down, and a couple of months ago all the pieces came together. I think finally being able to write the song gave me some closure."
