Mom (Karleen, not pictured): "They've been associated with Special Olympics since they were 4 and 6 years old. At four, Kourtney was actually too young to participate, but I coached the swimmers, so she got to come with me. Kourtney is 27 now, Kyle is 30, and they're both on the autism spectrum. Since they've aged out of school, this is their social life and it's great for them. They're around friends and other adults; it's not just mom and dad all the time. Special Olympics has activities year round. They love it and it keeps them healthy and active. We just did an 8-mile run this morning to help us get ready for the Greenline Half-Marathon. It may take us a day and a half to finish, but we'll make it."
