"I remember a little plaque my mom used to have, with the Serenity Prayer on it: 'God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.' That prayer meant a lot to me over the years, especially when I was raising my children and they got to be pre-teens, then teenagers, then adults. I needed all the serenity, courage, and wisdom I could get."
