"I like crafts and art, so I might be an art teacher someday. I like to write too. I'm writing a story now about a girl whose parents get captured in another dimension and she goes to rescue them. I think it will take at least a month to write it, edit it, and proofread it. If it's good, I want to try to publish it too. My friend Aisha and I are writing a book together about seven girls who are best friends. Not all of them are Muslim, but some of them are. They all get to be best friends when they work on a science fair project together. In the story, they have adventures and face things they've never faced before, like hardships. Not like in school. You don't have too many hardships in school, except for projects. We're working on the first chapter now where we introduce the characters, then the adventures will start in the second chapter. We already have the cover finished. At lunch we sit together, talk about the plot, and then write. If we disagree about something that should happen, we change things around and work on it until we agree."
Jana tells me that the book she and Aisha are writing was inspired by the Jannah Jewels adventure series.
