"I was bullied a lot in school. Different people said things about me, and I didn't understand why it was happening. In middle school, there was this one guy who bullied me really seriously, and things were so bad that I wanted to commit suicide. I didn't want to tell my mother or my grandparents, but I needed someone to talk to, someone who would understand, so I started praying. I said, 'Lord God, help me. Please let this bullying end.' I decided to just live for God and not worry about what anyone said to me. There were times I wanted to hit back, but I never did. I started praying for them instead and just walking away. Things were better by my junior year and the bullying stopped by the time I was a senior. One day after I graduated, I saw that guy from middle school again, and I told him, 'I forgive you.' He said, 'For what?' but he knew what he had done. When I see somebody being bullied now, I tell them 'I've been there, and I made it through. You have to pray for your enemies and look past what they're doing. Some people just want to be the big, bad wolf and hurt other people. If being kind to a bully doesn't work, then walk away.' I thank God he brought me through all the hurt and pain. A lot of people don't survive it."
