"My son’s Kindergarten teacher is one of those people who was born to do what she's doing. She knows how to keep the students under control and help them enjoy learning at the same time. She’s a magical combination. And there are a lot of teachers out there like her. We had thought at first that we would try to send our children to private schools, but we looked into it and discovered that our neighborhood school was offering an excellent program. We enrolled our children there and have been very pleased. That's why I started the Memphis School Guide: to help other parents navigate their choices and find a school that's a good fit for their child and for their family. I've worked closely with all sorts of schools---public, private, and charter---and have put together a great deal of information on what is offered in Memphis. We'll be at the Charter School Enrollment Fair at the Fairgrounds (Saturday, January 31, 2015, from 10 am - 2 pm) and will be available to assist parents with their school selections."
Ginger Spickler's new website, Memphis School Guide, is designed to help parents navigate the often daunting task of choosing a quality school that is a good fit for their child. She is familiar with the city's educational landscape (public, private, and charter) and values parents' input on the schools their children attend. Her own two children attend Shelby County Schools.
