"What piece of advice did you pass on to your children?"
"Be consistent in what you do. With determination, you will win. Don't quit, don't give up. I used to tell my children this story: A little boy once asked his father, 'What is courage?' and the father replied, 'Go get the dictionary and look it up.' The boy did, but then came back to his father and said, 'Daddy, I still don't understand', so the father said, 'Come on, son, let's take a walk.' The father took the little boy by the hand and the two of them went deep into the forest. Now there had been a terrible fire in the forest and everything had been burned up. Everything except for one tiny white flower. When the boy saw it, he cried out, 'Oh! Courage!' The father said, 'Yes, son, it takes courage to stand alone when everything around you is falling apart.' That's the kind of courage I worked to pass on to my children, and I trust they will pass on to theirs."
