“I have breast cancer; breast cancer does not have me! I was diagnosed on August 5 of this year, had a double mastectomy on September 9, and I’ve just undergone my first chemotherapy. It’s been a whirlwind, but through this experience I’ve definitely gotten stronger in my faith. I don’t take anything for granted anymore. The thing that’s helped me most has been the awesome support of my family---my husband, children, sisters, aunt, friends, coworkers---they’ve all been there for me. They listen to me, hold me, cook for me, clean up, and tell me everything is going to be okay. Their day-to-day support has been tremendous. My family is everything to me.”
