"I was born in Memphis, grew up in New York City, and lived in Queens. Because I’m deaf, I went to PS 47 in Manhattan, which is where I learned lip-reading and sign language. I worked as an auto mechanic and was married, but some things happened and we divorced after twenty-three years. My wife was deaf also, but all three of our children can hear. They use sign language to communicate with me. I’m 63 years old now, and I come here to draw and relax. I love drawing cartoons."
